She was really surprised by it. I'm inclined to think she'd never been given jewelry by a-- well, I suppose lover is the best label. I don't really know what to call us.

[LB is just weird about formal greetings – she's still trying to get used to it all again.]

Jewelry is a pretty serious gift, I think. Hahaha, so I'd imagine she'd be taken aback... in a good way, I hope?

But, ah, around here, it really is hard to come up with labels to those you're intertwined with, isn't it?

It is... but on the other hand, it's not diamonds or sapphires. [Or gold for that matter. It was just a pretty choker.]

Traditional labels will never really fit here. At least we're logical enough to realize that sex is sex... and sex isn't a relationship. So, we're not going to get upset when the other fucks someone else. That's just stupid on this planet.

Well, I'd imagine that would be for when you do have some sort of label for – heheheh – whatever your relationship is. [She thinks. LB isn't actually all that sure.]

I don't think someone like me would work too well with traditional labels anyway. I suppose, at the very least, it's been nice to, uh. Eheheh... explore that aspect of myself.

But... don't you ever wonder what it'd be like if you could reasonably have just one person to yourself here?

I didn't know you were missing any. I thought you just had those machines augmenting your physical attributes.

"Blake", huh? [LB thinks she met a woman named that before, but their interaction had been pretty brief, not to mention it wasn't an uncommon name either – so she doesn't quite make the connection just yet. Still, she has to tease Mary about it a little bit.]

Mine aren't quite as obvious as those with the real magical kind of power – haha – but while the arsenal offered to me is more on a minor scale, my nanos also carry on a whole lot of work.

So, uh. It's really nice to have them back. My life had been a real pain in the ass up until then.

[If LB had been there, she would've seen the teeniest bit of color touch her face at the teasing.]

No... but the one that could teleport that had been with us against the Black Market had been given one that stopped the power. I think that's how I got it.

Hmm... maybe? Did your power vanish as soon as she got the bracelet off?

It went away a couple weeks before that. It's just all so very... disturbing.

If it went away before that, though, wouldn't that mean that wasn't the case? Eheheh?

I suppose in any case, it must be a relief for you.

I suppose if I was from a world where humans have powers it may have stayed longer. But since I'm not, I like to think my body just couldn't hold it and it dissipated.

[She preferred that theory, that her natural existence rejected such powers.]

If that's the case, that, uh. Heheh, that'd be kind of scary if your body was rejecting powers like that. That might mean something worse could have happened to you!

I'm not supposed to have them; it's a comforting idea that the next time it happens to me that it will go away.

I guess you won't know if and when it happens to you again.
